Insurance that puts you first

Truck Insurance

All vehicles on UK roads are required by law to have adequate insurance to protect themselves and other road users from financial loss in the event of an accident and trucks are of course no exception. It can be a challenge to find the right truck insurance however, especially for vehicles with a specialised body type. Our aim is to cater for all requirements and tailor your policy to your business needs.

There are many factors that determine the type of insurance you will need to take out, but these can basically be divided into four different categories:

Liability insurance: This insurance contract is mandatory and it covers the damage that the truck may cause to other vehicles while on the road. No truck can be driven without this insurance and any lapses in this field can invite heavy penalties. Personal costs for damages to third parties can be exceptionally high and it’s simply not worth taking the risk.

Bobtail insurance: This insurance contract, also known as non-trucking liability or deadhead, is voluntary in nature and it covers the truck whilst on the road.

Motor truck cargo: Most shipping companies insist on this insurance, since it covers the goods being carried by the truck.

Physical damage coverage: Whilst not mandatory, many truck owners opt for this extra coverage, since it covers the truck against damages from flood, fire or theft.

Before searching for truck insurance it is a good idea to collect all the relevant information and details about the truck. These include the driver’s license numbers of all the drivers and their basic driving history. The vehicle identification numbers of the truck should also be provided, along with the make, manufacture name and the date of manufacture.

As well as the right level of insurance it is also important to get cover at a good price. Paying more than you need to for your truck insurance brings down your company’s profit. Through tailoring the policy to suit you we help you get great value for money. You can also count on us for advice on all areas of truck insurance including policy details and payment methods.
